Today the Art Deco style enjoys a popularity unrivalled since its inception at the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris, from which the style takes its name. In spite of this, the role of Art Deco in defining domestic architecture is often neglected.
