pick#ARC 5th book in this series with a very current focus of the 'orange' President & administration & the impact & effect on democracy, women's rights, laws/bureaucracy & our prevailing rape culture. So pretty dark & violent with lots of triggers which made it somewhat harder to read than the previous books-not that they all haven't been graphic or had similar themes-but this one feels more 'right now.' Good but I need something much lighter now.😱
Day 20 #FallIntoBooks #booknerdconfessions This is catch up from 2 days ago.😬A strange habit I have to confess is that I can't leave a book on or in chapter (or page) 13. It just feels unlucky to me.😱This means I either have to read beyond it to chapter 14, or if I get to the 12th chapter or page & think that I won't have time to get past 13, I stop there & will even switch to another book if I still want to read. Yes, I'm just that strange...😜
This was this morning's coffeeshop breakfast-the usual avocado toast with spicy garlic aioli & cold brew coffee, along with a few pages of a current read. (#ARC of Book 5 of a series). Trying to get a pile of work done before a lunch appointment. Thinking of & praying for everyone in Puerto Rico, Mexico & anywhere else who is suffering. 💜I spent a lot of time in San Juan years ago for work & I have good friends there still--hoping all are safe.
