Great read for over the 4th of July Weekend. 3 Short Stories held together by Eliza Hamilton collecting accounts of those who served with Alexander Hamilton. Chapters aren't overly long which made it easy to read a bit here and there between festivities.

I don't usually like short stories but this collection of stories (possibly novellas) was fantastic because of the less usual viewpoints. There's a historical romance author who writes about Jewish protagonists and it's not a WWII story? Sign.Me.Up.

I already knew I loved Courtney Milan, but Rose Lerner is a new-to-me author and I'm trying some Alyssa Cole again because I feel like I should really enjoy her books.

The third story, Alyssa Cole's “That Could Be Enough,“ was the most closely tied to the Hamilton frame story, and as I mentioned I don't really care about Hamilton, so I struggled to connect with it even though I normally love Alyssa Cole.

Overall the collection is definitely worth reading if you like historical romance. “Promised Land“ was the standout for me and the one I'm most likely to come back to.

Finished the second novella (Milan's “The Pursuit Of...“) last night. I enjoyed it but not as much as I liked the first one.

The writing in the sex scene felt clunky to me, with a lot of uses of “the other man“ where either a name would have been clearer or a pronoun would have sufficed. I'm not really an m/m reader so maybe I'm missing something, but I found it distracting.

I wanted something fluffier, so I picked up this book. I have no particular feelings about Hamilton so the frame story does nothing for me, but I figured I'd give it a shot.

I read the first story, The Promised Land by Rose Lerner, today and loved it. It's an unapologetically Jewish story, and I like that even though I know that, as a non-Jewish outsider, I don't understand everything. I'll be looking up more of Lerner's books.

So glad my library finally got this one and my hold came in!! Three lovely historical romance novellas by three of my favorite historical romance writers—and I loved all three! I read most of it last night and then finished this morning when I decided to stay in bed instead of trying to be productive this morning. 💖📚

I liked all three novellas equally. All had something diffenrent that made them unique : faith, m/m, f/f. For romance reader that are fans of Hamilton it‘s a must. Diverse pairings, lots of fun. #romantsy

Just back from by acupuncture appointment and the Leafs are up 4-0 against the Rangers. The d-men rookies are at it again with some helped from the sophomores kids. TO is in a roll and chased out King Henrik. I'm starting the last novella in Hamilton's Battalion. #readingandlisteningtohockey

First game for the Leafs after the All Stars brake. Tavares is in TO. Might be a good game or a disaster since there are a lot of injured or sick players for the Leafs. I'm passed the 50% point for Hamilton's Battalion. I'm almost done with Milan's novella which is pretty good and funny so far. #readingandwatchinghockey

I'm about a 1/3 into the second novella. First one was really good. Hockey is back. 🐧 are playing against the 🦈. Abs boy is playing against LA 🤴 later in the evening. 🌸is in Calgary. It's cold and humid outside. There is a hot bath, reading and #listeningtohockey tonight.

This (very late) review is short but to sum it up....these stories are sweet, well written and so important too ♥📖

I love this book. I love the stories of love and hope and faith and belief that reside in it. I love the authors who wrote these stories in the face of disappointment and disbelief. I love that romance and reading romance will always be a form of resistance.

1) super charming and fun to read
2) three stories looking you dead in the eye and saying "We have always been here."
So damn good.

Sick in bed so I‘m wrapping this collection up tonight. The cheese keeps making me laugh then cough 😷

What a delight! This trio of romances features a m/f, m/m, and a f/f story. Highly recommend whether you‘re into Hamilton or not.

Working my way through this one but I may end up skipping the first story, it just isn't working for me :(

A trio of Revolutionary war romances by three #romantsy superstars featuring diverse characters. The Ripped Bodice recently released an interesting report on the state of diversity in romance and no surprises it is not very good. So I was very excited about this book and was not at all disappointed. Two of the novellas are much stronger than the third but I enjoyed this collection.
