"With more than usual eagerness did Catherine hasten to the Pump-room the next day, secure within herself of seeing Mr. Tilney there before the morning were over, and ready to meet him with a smile:—but no smile was demanded—Mr. Tilney did not appear."
Where oh where can Henry Tilney be? ?

This is edition I'll mainly be reading from. Also have Audio and Kindle for busy days.
My favorite quote from Chapter 1 and one of my favorites from entire book:
"if adventures will not befall a young lady in her own village, she must seek them abroad,"

#PemberLittens my April 'NOW' for #JaneAustenThenAndNow.
6 Movie Adaptations
6 #JaneAdjacent Reads.
Tagged Book is Book 3 of Murder on Location Series. I really enjoy this with it's overall love of Jane Austen. Like the coziness of the location. Mystery always keeps me guessing. Also they're not super long. You can finish in a couple of days. Plan to keep reading over the rest of year. 📖🎩🎞
Finished my official 'Now' read, although I read/watched a lot more. (Post to come.) Yes there was a lot of verbatim Pride and Prejudice but overall I found it fun. Particularly loved the additional art work.

"if she was a murderer it would be a bit like discovering that Mary Berry had a dark side."
Fun and cozy mystery! Liked all the gardening and food bits.
I finallycaught up @julieclair! #ThematicCozies
Jane and I spent yesterday making scones and watching all 6 hrs of 1995 Pride and Prejudice. It was wonderful. 🎩

I hadn't watched since it first came out. Had forgotten how good it was.
Favorite things:
Matt Smith as Parson Collins
I want boots and thigh holster for cosplay.
And Lizzy. Such a badass. ⚔️🎩🧟♂️

#PemberLittens 20th Anniversary showing of Pride and Prejudice definitely called for dressing up. Niece in law Jen and I had the best time. We sighed, we laughed, we clapped.
"You have bewitched me body and soul and I love, I love, I love you." ?
#JaneAustenThenAndNow
🎞 1940s P & P. I could let it go that the clothes and hair are all wrong, if they hadn't cut so much of the story. It made Elizabeth and Darcy falling in love come out of nowhere.
It's been a long time since I rewatched the complete Masterpiece Theatre 1980 P & P that introduced teenage me to Jane Austen. I liked Elizabeth! Had forgotten how uptight Darcy was in this one. ⬇️
Non-traditional mostly Emma retelling with a little bit of Pride and Prejudice thrown in. Library Hold that came in. There's a Wait List for it so I went ahead and read. This graphic novel was gorgeous! I truly believe that Jane Austen is for everyone and this showed that. I appreciated that it gave historical context at the end. 🎩

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single, space-faring man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife."
#PemberLittens we're half through April and I'm just starting my 'Now' #JaneAdjacent read. Morning low of 42F/6C was excuse to read a few chapters by the fire. Have read other books and watched 2 movie versions. Will share those as well. How's your reading going? #JaneAustenThenAndNow
Classic Martha vs New Martha. Martha Stewart's Gardening Month by Month is old favorite of mine. Yes it's a bit dated, but I'm always inspired by it. I usually flip through whatever month we are in. Plus it has seasonal recipes.
I was excited to get my hands the first new Martha gardening book in 30 years - Martha Stewart's Gardening Handbook. ⬇️
#PemberLittens I'm going far into the 'Now' for April. Super excited for this! It's such a gorgeous book.
I'm also going to have a look through my Kindle and Audiobooks. I have a ton of them on my TBR and I'm always adding more.
🎩📖🚀 #JaneAustenThenAndNow
I don't read a ton of Manga but I'm always disappointed. You start with a few pages of beautiful I color artwork and then goes to black and white. It's such a a letdown.
I didn't particularly like the artwork in this. Charlotte looked liked evil doll. I'm not sure what Magnus was supposed to look like. If I hadn't read original I don't think I would have been able to keep up with story.
Maybe Manga just isn't for me.

#PemberLittens for discussion of Pride & Prejudice! Answer here or make your own post just tag me so I see it. My answers:
1️⃣ Swapped between print and audiobook read by the fabulous Rosamunde Pike. Umpteenth reread. When I first started tracking my reading with Goodreads, I estimated that I had read P & P every other year since I was 14. Using that low estimate plus actually keeping track since 2017, makes this my 20th time reading. ⬇️
#PemberLittens I've been a bit offline for March because my Mr Darcy turned 60! How did that happen? His Birthday Wishes: to putter about in his workshop (which we've named The Putterage), weekend trip to Texas Pinball Festival, and Hummingbird Cake. He has a couple more days of Staycation. Currently he is happily changing the oil in lawn mower. He works a stressful job, mowing is his therapy. 🥳

#Pemberlittens its mid-month check in. How's it going? I was doing 2 Chapters a Day, got behind, caught up and then couldn't stop. I've been to Pemberley and will finish reading today.

#Pemberlittens after a busy weekend, enjoying some quiet time. Listened to March Episode of A Jane Austen Year Podcast.
https://spoti.fi/4h7i6uk March was all about snowdrops, excellent potatoes and many cups of tea.
Then Ch 5 & 6. "Happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance."

March #ThematicCozies Theme is 'Hobby' so @julieclair I'm going with my favorite hobby gardening. 👩🏻🌾
#Pemberlittens I switched to audiobook for Chapters 3 & 4. We're building raised veggie garden bed and yesterday was a lot of work. I listened with my morning tea.
"In understanding Darcy was the superior. Bingley was by no means deficient, but Darcy was clever."

#ShadowhunterSunday In March I'll be reading The Infernal Devices Manga - Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince, and Clockwork Princess. I have this Trilogy that contains all 3.
Will also be reading a few pages of The Whitechapel Fiend and Nothing But Shadows. Both of these short stories from modern day #TalesfromtheShadowhunterAcademy include flashbacks to where I'm at in my Timeline Reread. ➰️

Thoughts on January and February rereads of The Infernal Devices: One of the things I love about Cassandra Clare novels is that she writes strong female characters. This series is full of them. It also has my all time favorite character Magnus Bane. Chapter of him and Henry inventing things was The Best. ➰️

#PemberLittens Hello March! Cozy reading corner in my library is ready.
How will you be reading? Audiobook or Print? P & P is 61 Chapters. That's 2 a Day with one left for March 31st. Or will you binge read. Myself, I read Chapter 1 this morning. Busy weekend but I got up early to start. Will finish over next few days.
I'm excited to see everyone editions. Tag me so I can see. 🎩 📖📚

Sisters was my theme for Sense and Sensibility 'Now'. Relationship between Marianne and Elinor is such an important part of the original that I wanted stories that reflected that.
3X reading Miss Austen and I loved it just as much as the first. Can't wait for the show to be available in the States. Definitely in the spirit of Austen. It was my main read managed to finish a lot more.

Stunningly beautiful book. Loved illustrations & memorabilia. Saved for #JaneAustenThenAndNow. 👍for Presentation. Keeping for that reason & because it was gift from a friend. But👎for commentary. I have THOUGHTS #PemberLittens!
Elizabeth Bennet was joking when she said she fell in love with Darcy on “my first seeing his beautiful grounds at Pemberley.”
My next comment has Spoilers for Mansfield Park. 👇
#PemberLittens Stumbled upon this while searching for Sense and Sensibility Retellings for #JaneAustenThenAndNow.
Author seems to have disappeared in 2023.
From her abandoned Blog "Welcome to Twisted Austen, my annual event conceived in the spirit of Halloween, but which really just serves to infuriate and confuse my fellow Janeites.⬇️
#PemberLittens it's your Mid Month Check In for #JaneAustenThenAndNow.
I was trying to think of General Discussion Questions for 'Now' books. And this is the main one. Add Zombies or set in Space as long as it maintains the spirit.
What does bug me is when Author doesn't do their research. Things like I'll just pop down to bookstore and buy a 1st edition of Pride& Prejudice.
What makes or breaks a 'Now' book for you?
Sweet read about never being too old for love. Dual Timeline of 1922 and 1987. Twenties period was interesting mix of wanting a career in a typically male field of Pharmacist and Modern medicine vs Apothecary. I really liked that 'Modern Day' was late eighties before cell phones and air travel was easier. Yes, there was a bit of 'wow everyone ended up at the same retirement community in Boca, but it all came together in the end.⬇️

Started this Series for 2024's #SeasonalCozies so I picked final book for February #ThematicCozies Prompt Romance.
All in all, I enjoyed this series. Quick reads. I do wish there'd been a bit of Romance between Torie and Detective Mallard.
While there were several mentions of Easter Scavenger Hunt, it doesn't appear author is continuing series. Which is fine. Juniper's continued provoking of Det D was getting old.
@julieclair
#Pemberlittens Dangerous To Know: Jane Austen's Rakes & Gentleman Rogues and Rational Creatures will be ongoing 'Now' I'll be reading the Sense and Sensibility inspired short stories in February. And will carry on as we read the other 'Then' Austen. 👒📖🎩
#JaneAustenThenAndNow
*Both are also available on Kindle Unlimited.
#Pemberlittens watching this tonight. First Impressions: Barton Cottage is a MANSION but were bemoaning it's small. But other than that I'm loving. Cheesy in good way.#JaneAustenThenAndNow
This show up in my Facebook Memories from 2021. I was doing Chapter A Day of W&P and
"Today also starts my #Pemberlittens Readalong......Mansfield Park is the first of Jane Austen's novels to be conceived as well as executed and published in maturity." It‘s been ages since I've read Mansfield Park. Much as Jane wrote this with older eyes, I'm looking forward to reading through older eyes. ? #musingsonmansfield
#Pemberlittens I had so much fun in reading S&S!
📖 Elinor & Marianne's relationship is such a big part of S & S. For February I'm reading story focusing on Jane & Cassandra. Also I wanted to reread before May 4th PBS Premiere. Audiobook is read by fabulous Juliet Stevenson so I'll mostly listen. But it's nice to have a print copy to refer to.

#ThematicCozies @julieclair I was disappointed in my pick. I couldn't get over Eleanor, who was supposed to be this world traveler with a career in1920s yet she blushed and crushed like a schoolgirl at the first cute guy she saw. Meh.
