Chance is a novel by Joseph Conrad, published in 1913. Chance is narrated by Conrad's regular narrator, Charles Marlow, but is characterised by a complex, nested narrative in which different narrators take up the story at different points. #OnThisDay in 1912, the NY Herald began serialization of Joseph Conrad's Chance. While partially narrated by good ol' Conrad stand by Charles Marlow, Chance was the only one of his novels to focus on the life of a female character. It was also his most commercially successful work, propelling Conrad out of obscurity. So really, I have Chance to blame for having to read Heart of Darkness in grade 11. THANKS A LOT. #HistoryGetsLIT
