Bestselling and award-winning Icelandic crime author Yrsa Sigurdardottir is back with the next book in her Thra Gudmundsdttir series. SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME, the fifth installment in the Thra Gudmundsdttir series, was named Crime Novel of the Year by the Sunday Times.A young man with Down's Syndrome has been convicted of burning down his assisted living facility and killing five people, but a fellow inmate at his secure psychiatric unit has hired Thora to prove Jakob is innocent. If he didn't do it, who did? And how is the multiple murder connected to the death of a young woman, killed in what was supposed to be a hit-and-run?

Husband stacked his Sigurdardottir #Iceland books for me to choose one for #readingeurope2020. Any recommendations from this stack?

Addison_Reads I just read The Reckoning by this author and quickly became a fan. This is a great stack. I'm adding them all to my TBR now. 😀 I can't wait to see which one you pick. 4y

Fifth in the Icelandic series in which lawyer Thora gudmundsdottir incestigates crimes whilst managing domestic crises and a chaotic office. Here a fire in a care home has led to the conviction of an unlikely young criminal but a nasty villain in the hospital in which they are placed pays thora to investigate the young mans crime and get him off. A series i really enjoy. 8 days in and cracked open my advent calendar.

Gonna start this one. It‘s Women‘s History Month and I‘m trying to only read women authors. This one is a mystery novel from an Icelandic woman. A man with Down‘s Syndrome is accused of burning down his facility and killing several people. Is the guy guilty? Or is it somehow tied to other Murders and why?

Another great book by Yrsa Sigurdardottir. I love how normal Thora is as a sleuth, not taking too many ridiculous risks, and I enjoy the glimpses into her family life. Yrsa, meanwhile, excels at spooky prologues in particular 😱 Now I have only one Thora book left 🙁

Two fun things in one quote!

📘Neat way to learn Icelandic expressions! Now I need to see the original Icelandic.
📙There are totally people in Ottawa who would do what Matthew sarcastically suggests.

The Shadow District! Although Yrsa's book came before Arnaldur's.
