The EL strategy I would use is number 4: "Link lesson topic to students' prior knowledge" I would do this by asking the students if they have friends and what they do to make their friends happy. DrSpalding Be sure to concisely summarize the text. From the front cover I can see that it would be a great book for storytelling and read aloud. Helping students to have positive relationships with their peers is a vital part of your job. 7y
