Viral videos and dangerous criminals turn Odelia and Gregs good deed into accusations of murder It's the dog days of summer for Odelia and Greg after they rescue a dog from a closed car on a blistering hot day. The culprit is former reality star Marla Kingston, who's married to a client of Odelia's law firm. The dog was saved, but Odelia's job might not be when Kingston demands blood. Things get even stickier when a video of the rescue goes viral, and the man who helped them winds up dead. And who is the mysterious young woman who shows up about the same time? Is she connected or just an opportunist looking to cash in on their reluctant Internet fame? I don't generally post about books I win over at goodreads, but I figured this one is worth a laugh.
Before entering giveaways for books in a series that I don't already own, I check to see where it sits and if beyond say the third title I give it a pass. Mostly, I'd have to get used copies, or sometimes the cover designs change. I must have had a bad vision day when checking for this one - it's the 12th! I must have read it as 2. #ilovecozies

DGRachel You‘ve got a lot of catching up to do! Fortunately the book I won was #2, so I only have to read 1, but a Netgalley I was approved for ended up being #12. I didn‘t read the others and it did NOT work as a stand alone. 😔 7y

drokka @DGRachel That totally sucks. At least if it had worked as a standalone it would t have been so bad. @minkyb 😉 7y
