“She was never sick from overeating. Her table was usually set with only white and black-milk and dark bread, of which there was no shortage-and sometimes there was broiled bacon and an egg or two, for she was, as it were, a kind of dairy woman” this quote shows how she lives modestly and kindly and still is satisfied in life with what she has

This book makes me think of when I would watch little house on the prairie with my family and how the family in the show was always so happy even when they only had small pleasures every so often in life

Pickpick

This award winning book was uplifting and sweet. It showed the simple pleasures in life, and how even the small things can bring such joy to the people around us. We must cherish it all and not be overly taken by flattery from others or else it could become our demise
