I love the way Iggulden breathes life into history. His series are some of my favorite works of historical fiction, slow and dense, but detailed and breathtaking. I think they‘re easier to follow in print as there are so many characters and so many battles (so much fighting!) that it‘s a tricky to keep it all straight on audio, but the story was fascinating and I love the humanization of legendary, terrifying figures like the Mongol warriors.
