Somewhere between a PICK and a SO-SO. A pick because of the premise (rebellious, fiercely independent half-blood fae, raised in the human world, finds herself entangled in fae politics) and the story; a so-so because of the insta-lust and the unremarkable dialogue — MC is lacking the sharp wit to match her sharp tongue. Also, the squad could have been awesome but it‘s relegated to the sidelines. Still, it‘s good enough to keep reading! 😉 😁

Some of the language in the sex scenes is quite cringey — crazy how quick you can turn hot into icky 😬
I quite like the story, however — it reminds me of the Merry Gentry series, which was my favorite for a very long time and is still sitting on my shelf (always crossing my fingers that visitors don‘t look at the titles too closely 😅)

Months of reading mostly mediocre indie fantasy, and just a couple of days before my KU subscription expires I find something I might actually want to read. Figures 😠
Now, the challenge: read 3 books and one novella in 4 days, while getting everything else done. This isn‘t a week where I can spend the day reading 😣
