5 posts | 3 read | 4 to read
"Edwards [creates] amazing fantasy worlds that the reader becomes completely engrossed in." Goodreads Her beginning may be our end . . . Deep in the humid Mississippi bayou, a half-wild child is dragged from the murky waters. She has no memories, no family and is covered in mysterious markings. Adopted by the policeman who rescued her, Luce Boudreau follows him onto the force, determined to prove herself in the eyes of those who are still suspicious. However, there's more of a battle ahead than Luce could possibly imagine. She may be an orphan without a past, but no one - including Luce herself - could ever be prepared for the truth of her dark, powerful destiny . . "Well-plotted fantasy continues to engage the reader with its intriguing characters, heart-pounding action, suspenseful intrigue and subtle romance." RT Book Reviews "The world building is fresh ... The characters are well-drawn and easy to root for. And the romance really hits the spot." Red Hot Books

Why do narrators think French Louisianans sound like they are from Alabama or some other southern state?!?!?!? NO! Please research your role! I can never listen to audiobooks from southern Louisiana because of this. I have yet to find one that does not use a southern accent. It does not have to be a true Cajun accent but please do not use a southern drawl. 😧🤨😱😤

I fell off this one a while back but I'm gonna give it one more chance. There's nothing particularly bad about it, I think it's just slower than I anticipated.

I have a hard time reading on my kindle. I‘ve been reading this one for a while. This week has been super busy for me and thankfully I have my kindle app on my phone.

The tagged book is another one by the author because How To Save an Undead Life is not in the Litsy database. I don‘t often start book two of a series right after finishing one but I did last night because this light urban fantasy was exactly what I was in the mood for. About a necromancer who lives in the best haunted house I ever read about (granted I don‘t think I am have read about that many haunted houses) and available on kindle unlimited.

readinginthedark Oh fun! What‘s the first one? 6y
Jas16 @readinginthedark How to save a life is the first in the series. The second book is out as well and is titled How To Claim an Undead Soul 6y
