paulettevp Marshall Armstrong is the new kid who happens to be better prepared, more attentive to Ms. Wright, and eats weirder food than the narrator. Despite their differences, the narrator warms up to Marshall and even welcomes new students. 7y
paulettevp The students could participate in PR. After the reading, they should discuss how it feels to be the new kid and what they would do if they had a new classmate. 7y
paulettevp UDL 2.1 During PR, students could clarify vocabulary and symbols in the story to each other and may even use the dictionary to look up unfamiliar terms. ESOL 2 During the PR, students will be learning cooperation while listening to and discussing the story. 7y

DrSpalding Harper Collins has amazing resources for their books. Excellent choice. Often times you will have new children in your classrooms. What a great book to add to your library. 7y
paulettevp @DrSpalding I will keep that in mind for future assignment and lesson plans. It seems to me that some schools have classrooms with a rotating door because of so much mobility and books like these help. (edited) 7y
