2.5 of the Slough House series and this time I find myself drawn these two:

JK Coe - the guy's obviously smart but tortured so what exactly is his back story? Not much answer can be found here but at least his other side is revealed.

Hannah Weiss - is she a naivete seeking the thrill of an adventure as a spy-wannabe or is that just a persona she is adopting? This book introduces her but does not reveal who she really is.

A great little spy story for fans of Mick Herron's Slough House series that is equally accessible for new readers. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

He had a plan. It wasn‘t much of a plan, and involved a lot of luck and twice as much bullshit, but it was the best he could do at short notice.

Reading this Slough House novella as a palette cleanser before starting the next Luna book.

This SLOUGH HOUSE short story by Mick Herron appeared in some hardback copies of LONDON RULES and is an entertaining read with some intriguing background on J K Coe and cameos from Jackson, River, Catherine and Lady Di but I wished the ending was a little more definite. There‘s also an excerpt from NOBODY WALKS, which I will buy on the strength of this but the book is expensive for what it is and as such is one for completists only.

Welp, I just blew through this 68 page story in half an hour. Not sure I‘d pay full price for it, but it sure was entertaining. Now onto the next Slow Horses spy novel!
