An old school kind of story that stands the test of time enough to make it to Netflix. Finally took this one off the TBR list when I found out that James Purefoy was playing Hap. Haven't laughed that hard at the inner ramblings of a man in a long time.

I watched this series on Netflix, and to my delight found out it was a series of books. So I've started down the path of Hap and Leonard in written form 🙂 I was a little leary at first, because I loved the show. It was unlike anything I'd ever watched and was sad to hear it had been canceled. But that just gives me more reason (and time) to read the series of books.

Loved this book. Takes place in the great state of Texas (where I live). #riotgrams #day16

I really want to read this book now because this show is pretty good and is reminding me a lot of Texas (in a good way and bad way).. even though it's filmed in Louisiana haha

Great dialogue, characterizations, descriptive settings, and fast plot line without any obvious continuity errors. A clean read; and a deep desire that Leonard was real! Maybe a little light (feels like a TV show); and Hap thinks w/his d1ck; but still fun and entertaining :-)

GuiltyFeat The series just gets better from here. 9y

Saw this on litsy earlier, and picked up this first in the Hap & Leonard series today. Published in 1990, it's a little dated: No cell/smart phones, computers, or satellite TV... And the war of the protags' youth is The Vietnam War! So maybe label this as a hist-fic in addition to mystery!

Guildedearlobe My issue with this book and the first season of the show is that Hap and Leonard are almost spectators to the events. That definitely changes as the series progresses. Love the interactions between the main characters. 9y
