I've never read a "self help" book before, but this was pretty good. It was really interesting to read other people's stories too

I can't believe I've been away for so long! Oh how I missed my fellow littens!
Loved this book. It was so inspirational. She gives perfect advice on how to move forward with difficulties in life
However you define faith, it is a very personal thing and one of the most important steps to healing.....learning to have faith.....
"If my mission and my religion have taught me anything, it's that faith isn't just what you believe in, it's how you live, how you love, and how you move forward."
Elizabeth found her faith through music, parents and family, horseback riding and her faith.
Recommended.

I didn‘t realize going in that this book is mostly a series of interviews. Smart wrote introductions and little stories about herself around the interviews, but it all felt very trite and generic to me. I skipped to the end to read the last interview with Mandy Patinkin (I love him!) and it was moving, but too short and lacked depth. Maybe someone who shares Smart‘s faith would enjoy this more—she is Mormon.
Elizabeth Smart is trying to make me feel guilty for the fact that I only picked this book up because she was a kidnapping victim 😅
I found this on my library‘s new book shelf and didn‘t know she‘d already written a memoir about her experience. Not sure this will interest me as much if it doesn‘t go into that, but she‘s talked a bit about being a mother (very relevant to me right now) so I‘ll proceed.
I‘m really enjoying this book so far. I mean she‘s just so very inspiring the way she speaks ❤️
This was an AMAZING book! So many different perspectives with some great advice! Uplifting and encouraging! I would highly highly suggest this for everyone to read, regardless of your walk of life she has interviewed so many people with stories of encouragement! How these people have moved on and thrived after their own personal traumas. Many of the points I will definitely reflect on in times of trouble for myself! Great great book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
