Cruising Attitude
Cruising Attitude: Tales of Crashpads, Crew Drama, and Crazy Passengers at 35,000 Feet | Heather Poole
3 posts | 2 read | 7 to read
Real-life flight attendant Heather Poole has written a charming and funny insider’s account of life and work in the not-always-friendly skies. Cruising Attitude is a Coffee, Tea, or Me? for the 21st century, as the author parlays her fifteen years of flight experience into a delightful account of crazy airline passengers and crew drama, of overcrowded crashpads in “Crew Gardens” Queens and finding love at 35,000 feet. The popular author of “Galley Gossip,” a weekly column for AOL’s award-winning travel website Gadling.com, Poole not only shares great stories, but also explains the ins and outs of flying, as seen from the flight attendant’s jump seat.

This was a fast, amusing read. I especially liked Poole‘s stories of working with her mom. I would recommend this for frequent fliers to show them how much work flight attendants do. They are not there solely to serve you drinks—they are responsible for your safety in an emergency so don‘t make their jobs difficult.

In the house last night for my first play, GROUNDED, at 59E59 Theaters in Manhattan? Bestselling author — and flight attendant — Heather Poole and her mom (also a flight attendant) and son (who took this photo). I absolutely loved Heather‘s memoir, CRUISING ATTITUDE, and it‘s in the acknowledgments of my most recent novel,THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT. I was so honored that she and her wonderful family were at the show last night!

Whose jeans are those? None other than Heather Poole's, the author of one of my favorite books, CRUISING ATTITUDE. Her memoir of being a flight attendant is in the acknowledgments of THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT. Thank you, Heather, for commuting to work -- and your next flight -- with Cassie Bowden!
