#getmovin #higherground
The protagonist of this novel, Cat, has PTSD from the death of her parents. It happened at the bottom of the mountain they lived on and she grows up in the mountain town with her grandparents with a fear of leaving #higherground. She ends up marrying and it‘s mostly about whether her marriage/family will survive some personal issues. I loved ARS in my late teens/early twenties. Lots of southern US settings.
Centique I am going deep, DEEP into backlist territory now... 😂😂 7y

Kaye This is a surprising setting. Aren‘t most of her books set by the beach ? 7y
Centique @Kaye I‘ve read a couple set by a beach and a couple that weren‘t. She wrote a ton though. 7y

Reggie Does this sound like an Americanized version of Heidi? Or am I just seeing what I want to see in your description? Lol 7y
Centique @Reggie oh I wish! I love Heidi 😍. I think it was more Pat Conroy southern trauma crossed with a pretty soap opera - maybe Falcon Crest? Do you remember that one? 😂😂 7y
Reggie @Centique Pat Conroy soap opera mashup has stacked all over it for me. Lol, I do remember Falcon Crest but my family was all about Dynasty. Krystle and Alexis. 7y
Centique @Reggie 😂😂 And oh that Dynasty hair! 7y
