My library system is one among many.

I think all of us are on edge right now... anxious... burdened by the uncertainty of this unprecedented event and worried about our loved ones, our jobs, our own health and mental well-being... so many things, really.

But we can't succumb to the panic... let the spiraling thoughts win.

I understand why these decisions are being made and know they aren't being made lightly. ⬇️

Librariana I am tremendously grateful to be employed by an organization that is thinking about all of us in this crucial time, our customers as well as our staff. I will be reporting to work tomorrow and learning how we will handle this closure moving forward.

I am grateful for all of you here, even if I'm not as active a Litten as most of you wonderful souls, and grateful we all have the comfort of reading 💜📚

Airykah13 My system is closed until at least 3/31. For now I‘ll still be working but that may end up changing. 5y
Librariana @Airykah13 - So sorry to hear you are going through this as well 😔💖 I am right there with ya as we learn how we'll address work in the days and weeks to come, especially with 11 branches closed. I send you my best wishes and hope you'll stay healthy and safe! 💜📚 5y

Airykah13 Thank you! We have 86 branches in my system so it‘s a big hit 5y
Airykah13 I hope you stay healthy and safe as well 5y
Librariana @Airykah13 - My goodness! 86 branches!? Wow! We have nothing to complain about then! I'm in Washington state and it's been mind boggling to witness how everything is being affected nationwide. Hang in there! And bless you and your colleagues for the work you do across so many branches! 5y
Librarybelle ❤️❤️❤️ 5y
emtobiasz Good luck to you and your library ❤️ 5y
LiteraryinPA Thinking of all the librarians out there. ❤️ 5y
Bette Wondering what our library is planning, there's talk of delivery, drive up ... wish everyone well. 📚❤️ 5y
Librariana @Librarybelle - like I shared earlier, you're in my thoughts as well and I hope that everything goes smoothly for you and your staff 💖📚 We're in this together! 5y
Librariana @emtobiasz - Thank you so very much! I hope that services at your local library aren't disrupted too badly and that you're able to go pick up lots of goodies should you and yours be under a quarantine situation. 5y
Librariana @LiteraryinLititz - Believe me that we want to stay the course and be there for the public, but I think services in general just have to be adjusted for the time being. I take comfort in knowing that we're all learning about this together and leaning on one another for support. 5y
Librariana @Bette - I hope your library will be able to do one of the two. And if you have access to their digital services and enjoy using them (I personally only do digital audiobooks!), that you'll take advantage of that if your system makes them available. I know through Hoopla, we can get music, movies, and tv shows! 😊 Stay safe! 💜📚 5y
Bette Thanks you stay safe as well. Not worried about me, worried about my old coworkers really. I just retired after 37 years so I can try to dodge this. I worry because some of them are living paycheck to paycheck. A lot of hard choices for all. 5y
Bette Just wanted to tell you, they closed today. I'm very relieved. 😌 5y
Librariana Oh, @Bette! So happy to hear that! 💖 I hope they'll all be able to rest easy now that this decision has been made and that they'll be better able to take care of themselves. If salaries have been worked out as part of the budget, I hope administrative leave will go into effect so that they have one less thing to worry about. 5y

Mehso-so

Based on a true story, this read more like a biography that a fictional novel. I had a hard time connecting with the main character Tara, mainly because of her lack of growth throughout most of the novel and found there to be an underlying sadness with her but felt that the story resonated real life, not a fairytale. Just so-so read for me
