Concrete Evidence
My TBR for next month‘s #scarathlon2022. It may change if some of the books don‘t come in from the library in time.
I‘ve heard good things about the C.J. Box series by Joe Pickett so I hope it‘s good.

I really enjoyed this one and learned a lot about the Deaf community. I listened to the audio whenever I was working and it was unique. Whenever the narrator read a part that was signed in the book, she signed and read at the same time. The audio changes a little so you could tell when the narrator was signing. πππππ
Her mother was an abuser in so many ways and I feel like Jennette‘s life could have been completely different if her mother wasn‘t in the picture. Mental abuse, physical abuse, an eating disorder encouraged by her mother, she didn‘t get the childhood she deserved and that played a major part in how things progressed for her as an adult. I applaud Jennette‘s openness about her life and the struggles she endured. πππππ

Verity was technically my first Colleen Hoover book but November 9 is the first I've read from her romance collection. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this one since I've heard her books are very emotional. Well, this book was just wonderful and I loved it.
As I was about 75% through the book, I thought I had the ending figured out but then there was a twist and that made the story even better.
I was browsing the August new releases on Goodreads and I saw this and immediately put it on my TBR. I loved the original five of the Stillhouse Lake Series and I‘m so glad that the series will be continued!
I dislike the narrator for this book

I would have never known about this story if this hadn‘t been required reading for a committee I‘m on. The crime itself was disgusting and the βpunishmentβ was a disgrace. The family and friends of Vincent Chin were relentless in their quest for justice and it was inspiring to see something come from their hard work.

Claudia & Monday have always been best friends. When the new school year starts and Monday isn‘t there, Claudia worries something happened to her. As she tries to convince the adults in her life that Monday is missing, no one takes her seriously.
I couldn‘t put this one down. It goes back and forth between two different timelines and was a page turner. I love when I have no idea how a story will end, it keeps me invested.
Genre: Mystery/Thriller

I finished this one last week and I absolutely loved it. This was Angeline Boulley‘s debut novel and she knocked it out of the park. While it is a standalone, I do wish it was at least a duology so I could have more story.
Even though this was a mystery/thriller, I really enjoyed reading about the different tribal traditions in regards to everyday life.
Forgot to post my TBR for the month. A Fire Sparkling and Tips for Living are my #roll100 reads for the month.
January Wrap-Up
Favorites were Looking for Alaska and Beyond Reach
I‘m going to stick with the same goals this month
January recap
I read 11 books, only met my water goal towards the end of the month, and I did manage to work out 4x a week ππΎππΎ

My #20in4 stats
I finished two in-progress books (Break No Bones and Beyond Reach) and a middle grade graphic novel.
I started the Will Trent series before Grant County so I already knew Jeffery was going to die at some point. And even though I knew, when it finally happened, I wasn‘t prepared for how hard it would hit me. The way he declared his love for Sara in his last dying breaths gutted me. Dammit, Karin! I‘ll still read anything you write though π¬
