Finally finished this tripe. The book struggled to have lyrical prose but felt pretentious instead. It always felt like there was something great around the corner while reading but never arrived.

Evening reading with tea.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Finally finished this one late last night. It was a good story, but it was like climbing a hill - it got better the farther you got into it, until the end when it all came together. It went back and forth through time, so it was tough to keep up at times, but it was still a good book.
Another day in the yard with my little buddy. But I didn't quite finish the book yet. I've been busier than expected lately. The countdown to vacation is on!
Hoping to finish this one today. And then it's time to pack up all my books that I'm taking on vacation! I'm excited to sit on the dock and read a few books while I'm gone to the lake.
Another relaxing afternoon reading - me, my tablet, and my mint water.
"I would smell the clean, fishy, kelpy sun-on-dried-rocks smell, and I would hear the sea breathe."
I love how Anne Rivers Siddons makes the setting another character in this book.
Me and my buddy, relaxing and reading in the beautiful Sunday weather. Grateful for lazy Sunday's.
Me and my buddy, hangin in the backyard, reading on a relaxing Sunday. Grateful for the gorgeous weather.
I have always been a fan of Anne Rivers Siddons writing and I've heard good things about this book so I'm giving this one a try. Hoping for good things!
