Reading about the effects of poverty on students #TeachersofLitsy

tome.fries Fascinating subject! Are you familiar with the ACE study? 6y
BookishMarginalia @tome.fries It‘s not ringing any bells. What is it and should I read it? 6y
Lauram @tome.fries @BookishMarginalia ACE study is the big childhood trauma study, right? Researchers found that certain traumatic events in childhood led to health issues later in life. 6y
Tamra Recently learned about the ACE study - very interesting. 6y
tome.fries @Lauram that's exactly it! It's a fascinating study that's changing how a lot of schools, organizations, doctors, and communities respond to "bad kids." I got to hear one of the founders speak last fall and it was incredible. The book Childhood Disrupted is all about it and it's great! I highly recommend it for anyone working with youth. 6y
