One of my closest friends gave me a beautiful hard back copy of In The Beginning by Virginia Hamilton. I love folklore and this book is gorgeous. I loaned it to another friend just before her apartment building caught fire. Her entire family had to jump from a second story window. I had to resist the urge to ask her if my book was okay. I had to get another copy. #sundayfunday @BookmarkTavern

The illustrations in this are less vibrant than classic children tales, but I still think students would appreciate the detail and style used for this story.

This book is great for older and younger readers. It is very versatile and helps the reader to understand different perspectives and understandings of the world. There are multiple stories in this book to explore and consider. For children as well as adults, it is important to understand your opinions based off of understanding others around you.
