Creepy as expected!
I was trying to read when this happened. 🙄🐾💙
This was a awesome book, I really loved the story and I did get invested In the characters life and story. I liked the whole concept with the voices and it wasn‘t very clear on what the voices span from. You get an idea with more of a demonic presence but never a real explanation and I like that. I loved the shuttle romance, it was cute!
#hauntedbooktober Oct 17: Black Cats & Bats. The Murmerings is quick and thoroughly creepy. It's not perfect, but it's great if you're looking for fun #halloweenreads 🎃. Happy Monday!
Okay, so update now that I have finished this book! Honestly, I was really into this at the start of the novel but I lost interest extremely quickly. Several chapters into the book, it totally loses pace and fell very short of my expectations. As I trudged on through the book, I found everything that was once interesting to be completed unrealistic and quite frankly (sorry to put it this way) stupid. Sorry to be so harsh, but wouldn't recommend!

Beginning The Murmurings by Carly Anne West today! I'm intrigued so far and am excited to continue reading this. My only complaint is the romantic side that's slowly emerging. Does anyone else hate how there is always some kind of romance in mystery novels?? #maybenot #romancehater
Downsides: 1. Underdeveloped characters. 2. Awkward romance. 3. Forced plot.
Things I loved: This book has some undeniable creepiness. The cover alone is haunting. The writing style is fluid, and West has some great one-liners and almost poetic descriptions.
This was like one of those horror movies you randomly choose on Netflix. It didn't fulfill its potential, but it was fun and gave me a few scares.
I didn't mean to order the big margarita. It just kinda happened....
My bookshelves are getting darker. YA horror has been calling to me lately.... TEN was a decent teenage murder fest and The Hunt was fun and quick to read (nasty little vampires). The other two are unfinished as of yet, so the verdict is still out.
