2 posts | 2 read | 2 to read
FROM THE AUTHOR OF THE MAYFLY COMES ANOTHER COMPULSIVE THRILLER. Some things are meant to be forgotten . . . What starts out like any other major libel trial for prolific lawyer Charlie Priest turns into a legal train wreck when the defence's star witness turns up murdered. While the defence stalls for time, Priest is determined to find out who is responsible, but as the bodies begin to pile up, Priest realises that he's caught in a web of deceit and corruption that protects a deadly secret: one that threatens to tear him and those he loves apart. FOR FANS OF ROBERT BRYNDZA AND M. J. ARLIDGE, THE ASH DOLL IS CHARLIE PRIEST AT HIS MOST IRREPRESSIBLE.

The book was a brilliant read, despite the fact that it took a while to get in to. If you are patient enough to start it, trust me when I say to keep on with it until the end! It was just fascinating, I LOVED the twist!

Pickpick

This was a great read with a well developed plot. The ending was good and in particular the epilogue, I love those sorts of endings. I hadn't figured out who the killer was until the end and it was a clever twist to the story.
Charlie's disorder added an extra layer to the story and made him a fascinating lead character. I also liked Georgie and she worked well with Charlie. Plus the added side story of her own past was good.
