It‘s finally happened: I‘ve found a Talia Hibbert novel that doesn‘t work for me. I like lots of the things that went into WANNA BET?—best friends who admit they‘re into each other, plus complicated emotions centred on family issues—but I never clicked with either lead and the sex scenes did NOT appeal. Way too much grazing and skimming and teasing. I actually fast-forwarded through the later ones, which I‘ve never done before.

Sadness.

I had the audiobook and it was just ok. I didn‘t care for the characters.

I loved Rahul and Jasmine. This was a great friends to lovers novel. Jasmine and Rahul met in college. Jasmine‘s history makes commitment a nope for her. It‘s either friends or lovers and so even though Rahul loves her he chooses their friendship.It‘s 7 years later and Jasmine needs Ruhal‘s help when her apartment floods. She hates relying on others. Living together starts to become something more, but Jasmine‘s fear affects everything she does.

Y'all, another age gap romance that doesn't feel like there is a huge power imbalance. Ben falls hard for Lina and boy does this man do everything in his power to prove it. He is all in. And this books has some really amazing scenes of them talking through various things and it made me so happy to see that kind of insecurity worked through in a health way. #romantsy

Jay only has male assistants to cut down on distractions and his dog is not a fan of women. What he did not expect was for Marty, his new assistant, to be a woman. No matter how hard these two try, they can't seem to ignore the heat between them. The added racial dynamic of this age difference romance are handled so well and made me happy to see them explicitly on the page. #romantsy

This beautiful read featuring a dude who has been in love with his best friend for years and is taking his chance to make it happen. I loved every second of this book and am so happy I stumbled upon it. Alex is so swoon worthy in how hard he is working. Rosie's is the lovely girl next door who is completely unprepared for the assault this man has planned. #romantsy
