How far would you go to bring home the one you love? A gripping story of loss and courage, from an author who is also an Army wife. Ever since hairdresser Poppy Day married her childhood sweetheart, Mart, she's been deliriously happy. Now Mart is fighting in Afghanistan, and Poppy is counting the days until he returns. It takes one knock at the door to rip Poppy's world apart. Mart has been taken hostage, and it's too dangerous for the army to rescue him. Poppy is determined to bring him home herself. But her journey will lead her to a heartbreaking dilemma. What price will she pay to save the man she loves?

Panpan

This is the story of Poppy and Martin, childhood sweethearts who have never spent a day apart until Martin joined the Britiah Army.

I have complicated feelings about this book and checking the reviews I'm not the only one.

I have a full review of this on my Goodreads, link in bio

Mehso-so

I really wanted to like this book. After a great beginning it just became ridiculous and too far fetched for me. Poppy Day's husband Mart gets deployed to Afghanistan. She gets the disturbing news that Mart is being held captive by terrorists. Not satisfied with how things are being done to rescue Mart, she is determined to get him back home, no matter what. I was an Army wife once and relate to her frustration, the plan is just too unbelievable.

Buechersuechtling I just scrolled through your bookline/timeline and I like the way you write your reviews a lot. 😁 7y
