I struggled to finish this book, the middle felt a bit meandering, but ultimately, a strong ending and solid read.

I read this for a new type of book club at my local library. It will be my first time participating in any live book club in 30 years. Not sure if it will be attended or not- But- I‘m glad I read this book that shares a complex perspective- what happens to your life when your brother kills someone? And it‘s a small town…and everyone knows your family and the person he killed family. I thought the author did a really good job with a YA version.
Like her previous books I loved this one too. This author always makes me feel sad & emotional while reading. I think she presents heavy themes pretty well and I liked how she handled forbidden romance in this novel.
