pickI‘m working my way through books from my childhood and this was one of my favorites. It‘s darker than I remembered and definitely uses some insensitive descriptions about the characters that wouldn‘t make it through editing today, but it was so neat to revisit and reread a favorite from when I was a kid. I found a copy of it with the original cover at a used bookstore to add to my book collection since I always got it from the library as a kid.
