Hello again! I'm alive & I'm sorry. Have been trying to work out life, which means trying not to sleep all the time. But on a good note, this past weekend we took a trip to Albany to get the boys some stuff since they did so well in school. We obviously had to stop at B&N in the mall. We also got to go to Book Warehouse. Here are the books that my 16 yr old and I picked out. Have u read any of these & see any that I should read right away?

Good Evening Littens. I wanted to pop in and give u guys an update. I feel like I kinda had a breakthrough today. I actually had some energy and did some cleaning of my house. I haven't been able to do that in over 2 months. All I have been doing is sleeping, getting my kids to school/picking them up, making food, & more sleeping. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it says this way so that i can be more present here. I have also been reading ⬇️

Good Evening Littens. I have a dilemma. I need to find books for 3 different women in my Pre-k's life. The school year is almost over & that means he loses his speech teacher he has had for like 3/4 years. I want to do something nice for his Pre-k teachers for making it an awesome first year. I asked them what genre they read. Here is the answers. ⬇️
Would love any help I can get! Thanks in advance

AkashaVampie 1. Christian Books
2. Mysteries/Crime Dramas
3. Style of these authors - Sheila Roberts, Sheryl Woods, Elin Hildebrand, Kristen Hannah
1mo
Meshell1313 That‘s so nice of you! I have suggestions for #2: James Patterson just wrote a bunch of new books with other famous people. His new one was written with Dolly Parton, then he just wrote one with Hillary Clinton. People love him. Also, I‘ve read a few Brad Meltzer books and those are really good! 1mo
AkashaVampie @Meshell1313 thank you so much. I like making people smile and doing something nice for others. Plus they have done a ton for my little monkey! I will check them out. Thanks 1mo

jb72 I don‘t know much about Christian books, but there are Christian bookstores. Mysteries maybe try a nice copy of Agatha Christie. 1mo
booksellerofyourdiscontent I don‘t read Christian books personally, but my bookstore has a sizable section. Terri Blackstock and Dee Henderson are popular Christian mystery authors. Colleen Coble dabbles in romance and historical romance and we can‘t keep her on the shelves. Just in case you wanted more options. (edited) 1mo
Geemom1118 Karen Kingsbury writes some good Christian books. Also Linda Castillo. She writes mysteries that deal with the Amish. Good luck! 1mo
ElizaMarie 1. Maybe a “Chicken Soup for the Soul“ type of book. I am not really into Christian books, and I would hate to give someone something Christian that I hadn't read first. Or maybe something like poetry? 2. Agatha Christie's books would be good. 3. Not familiar with these offers or their style? 1mo

Hey Littens. I am still trying to figure out how to start my own Book Gift Basket business. I had a thought. If I were to do a basket for Book to Movie, could I put a DVD in it? Do people still use dvds? I'm not sure how I would do it, if not. Any suggestions?

Mr.Mike-a-Muggle Books alongside cards with quotes from the movie you are suggesting ; I don't think people use DVD'S anymore ... 1mo
Yuki_Onna Yes, people are still using DVDs... I don't know about the US, but apart from streaming, many people still want to own their favourite films on a permanent medium here. 1mo
mdm139 We still use DVDs especially when the internet goes down and movies aren‘t always available to stream for free or on one of the streaming service you already pay for. When we can‘t stream it, we use the dvd. 1mo
BkClubCare Goodness, best to you! Interestingly enough, my IT dept in 2020 took away all DVD players for all my trainings (I do learning and dev - IT didn‘t tell me!). We don‘t have one at home anymore. I like the quotes from movies idea or popcorn? 🍿 1mo

Hey everybody. So i havent really been active. Still trying to work out my meds. I mostly just care for my kids (get them to school), go back to sleep, and then go get kids from school. By that, I haven't felt like reading much. I want out of that. I would love some suggestions of some books, if you have any. Thanks in advance.

If u dont know me, I love Paranormal Romance & Fantasy.

*Don't mind the mess behind the basket*

Just wanted to show off a basket I made for a Mom friend for Mother's Day. I wanted to spoil her becuz she does so much for others and doesn't get any time for herself. After taking this pic, I added a bath bomb and another book that I owned that I wasn't going to read. It was awesome to see a smile on her face. She even gave me a hug. It made her day.

Can't wait to one day have my own gift basket business

Gift Basket Research: Business Edition

Hello Littens. Today I would love to get some opinions from u. I am trying to plan, plan, plan the hell out of this so that I can go to the hubby with all this info and he give me the go ahead.

Question time: ⬇️

Thank you in advance!!! I appreciate your help in this journey!

AkashaVampie 1. Would you purchase a gift basket from a small business?
2. What occasions would you purchase a basket for?
3. How fast would you expect to receive the basket?
4. Would you be more willing to purchase from the small business if there were perks involved? If so, what perks would you be looking for?
5. Would you be interested in a monthly subscription basket?
6. How much would you consider on spending for a gift basket?
3mo
AkashaVampie 7. What type of themes would you like for the baskets?
8. For a Bookworm (kids) Starter Basket, what would be the ideal book for it? For a BookDragon (Adults) Starter Basket, what would be the ideal book for that?
9. Is there anything else I should be asking you all?
3mo
See All 8 Comments
melissanorr I'd buy gift baskets from a small business (and have in the past). I generally buy them for birthday and Christmas gifts so mostly in December when 3 of my friends have birthdays on top of Christmas. I would not do a monthly subscription and there would need to be a variety of themes as the people I buy for have wildly different interests. I don't need perks and my price point is between $50-100. 3mo
melissanorr As far as how fast, I look for shipping within a day or two and delivery within about a week. I've bought bbq baskets, brunch baskets, book baskets, puzzle baskets, etc. Hope this is helpful! 3mo
AkashaVampie @melissanorr thank you sweetie... it does help! 3mo
ATB Here are a few of my thoughts. I will have two kids away in college next year and I would for sure buy baskets from a small business aimed at that age group. I have sent care packages from Amazon and while they are fine I would love some personalization options to make them a little more special. I‘d probably be looking for something between $25 and $50 but would go up to $100. Arriving about a week after order. Hope that was helpful. 3mo
AkashaVampie @ATB thank u hun. Totally helpful 3mo

Jenniebooks Rewind to have the past to be with who was lost 3mo
Yuki_Onna Rewind also. Not to change any major things but to behave a bit more kindly and foresightful in certain respects. Also to relive some phases in my life more consciously and intensely. ❤ 3mo
jb72 Tough question. Rewind if I get to remember and to a few things differently, but if not then I‘d rather pause. 3mo

*Not My Photo*

I know it's been awhile since I have talked about this but...

Honestly who would buy book gift baskets from me if I were to start a business? I'm afraid if I start, no one would want to.

jb72 I think in part it would depend on shipping. Shipping has gotten rather expensive lately. I have a friend who would love to get something like that. Another thing you might think about too is advertising at your local library and indie bookstores. 3mo
ElizaMarie For me, no, I have too many books that I own that I need to get through. But I would consider a book basket as a gift for someone else. 3mo

Jenniebooks Hang in there 3mo

So I don't know if any of u know, but I stress alot. I am currently stressed about something that is out of my control and new to me, jury duty. I got summoned for it tomorrow. I don't know if I'm actually going to get picked tomorrow but I have so much that I am nervous about like my youngest has to be to school for 8:25 and I have to be at the place by 9 sharp (its all the way across the city). ⬇️

AkashaVampie And then if I get picked, am I going to be done to get my kids or is the hubby going to have to do it. And then another thing... am I going to be done before 4 so that the hubby can get to work? And then again if I am picked how long is the case going to run for cuz this is going to be hard to adjust to for our family. 3mo
CoverToCoverGirl Very stressful! I have been selected for jury duty twice but each time I claimed hardship because I was a stay at home Mom so I was excused. So sorry that this is causing you added stress. Hopefully you won‘t be selected. 💜💜💜 3mo
AkashaVampie @CoverToCoverGirl thanks sweetie. 3mo
melissanorr I'm sure it differs from place to place but I've been summoned many times and when it says you have to be there by 9, I then stood in line to check in for a half hour minimum. I also was chosen twice to serve and we never ended later than 3pm. Again, every city is a little different but it isn't as terrible as some expect. 3mo

So I posted about a Bookworm Starter Kit the other day... I was thinking, what if it was for a kid? What would it have in it? Just curious for future reference!

mdm139 Well, other than the things mentioned on your last post, for a kid I would add a stuffed animal especially if you theme it with specific book. Like if the children‘s book has a fox put in a fox stuffed animal. Maybe one of those bookmarks with a timer on it since many kids get assigned read a certain number of minutes a night for homework. 3mo
mdm139 Maybe activities books as well, like coloring books, maze books, puzzle books, etc 3mo
mdm139 Stickers, art supplies, fidget toys 3mo
AsYouWish A book light - I got one with a set of books when I was a kid - it was my favorite thing ever because I could read in the car, in bed late at night, etc. 3mo

julesG If you don't have a lot of time to read, reading sprints might be ideal for you. You could do 5min sprints. I'm sure you can squeeze in 5min here and there. 3mo
RedxoHearts I love them. A couple of the fb book groups I'm in do them sometimes. Especially when I'm busy though I'll do them like plan to read for 10 mins. It reminds me of being in school when they would have DEAR (drop everything and read day) 3mo

Hey Littens... Sorry I was MIA for the past couple of days. We took a trip to Albany during a snow storm on Friday and we had to end up staying there for the night. So we did some shopping. These are a couple of books that I picked up for myself.
