On this date in 1952,William Shawn would take over the editorial duties of the New Yorker from Harold Ross.I have read various articles in both of these editions , not the whole book.I love when the New Yorker cover references the city, love the shivering figure from the beautiful Puck building on Lafayette St.Built in 1885 for the publishers of Puck , the humor magazine. There are 2 gilt figures on the building,
created by Carl Buberl.
