Let‘s get a pup is a cute adoption story published in 2001. I found this book, while it was charming, kind of odd. It was awesome to see the mom and dad have piercings and tattoos. But at the same time the book started out by stating “the cat had died” and that seems-while it is realistic, too blunt for a children‘s book

“Let's get you home,“ said Dad.“

This book is silly and a great short read for the classroom. It involves animals so the children will be entertained and intrigued the whole time. This could be used in my classroom when the students need a good laugh or we are talking about having pets. This book shows that reading CAN be fun and silly, not boring!

LOVED this! So cute! Very family-oriented. This book is fun and super cute! This book is very appropriate for ages pre-k through 2nd I would say. I think the children would love it because it is a quick read and very fun and interesting. The Illustrations are unique and colorful. You think the cover might give it away, but in the end you find out something so cute and happy that was not expected.

This picture book is great for pre-school through second grade. The pictures were accurate and consistent throughout the book and helps create a picture in the mind of what is going on and the different types of dogs. The characters make the story because of their personality.

I would use this book in my classroom when talking about pets. I would also let the children bring in their favorite stuffed animal or picture of their animal in to the classroom.

At the Rescue Center Rosy was waiting for them. “Let‘s get you home,” said Dad.

I was honestly scared that they were going to leave Rosy at the pound so it made my heart happy that they came back to get her. The illustrations are very unique but cute.

Published in 2001 by Candlewick Press. This book has tons of repetition in it. It‘s also a very sweet story that can make everyone happy. The characterization is also very relatable. The plot is simple & easy to follow along.

“Kate‘s feet are no longer lonely under the blankets. It seems like Dave and Rosy have always been there. Their weight is comfortable and reliable, and will stop Kate‘s bed from floating away into the night.”

I would read this book to my class when talking about animals, or maybe even when talking about having a true friend.

I love how this book starts out with Kate being lonely in her own bed by herself but by the end, she no longer felt (or was) alone. This book is definitely appropriate for its age level because kids love dogs and are interested in them. The pictures do a great job in describing each individual setting of the book as well.
