I play the albums Pain in Love and The Last Temptation
and my body feels like a cassette tape
winding the tangled knot in my stomach back into childhood.
What is nostalgia if not a fire-proof chamber?

Ever seen this movie? It's very underrated and probably unseen by most people. It came out in 2002, and it deals with a dystopian society that uses drugs to suppress emotions. I highly recommend it, Christian Bale is great in it.

I had to go rewatch this episode, I didn't remember it. I liked the look into Trill society. The ending was a bit pat, but overall enjoyable.

tournevis I remember seeing this movie. I was underwelmed. I didn't think it was bad, it was just meh. 5y
Megabooks Never seen this movie. I rarely watch movies. I agree the ending of the episode was a bit lame. 👎🏻 5y
RamsFan1963 @tournevis It came out about the same time as The Matrix Reloaded, and got washed away by the (undeserved) hype of that film. I admit I enjoy the movie mainly for Bale, he's one of my favorite actors. 5y
tournevis @RamsFan1963 We agree about Matrix reloaded. Ugh. I like Bale fine, early Bale mostly. 5y

Jus heard three amazing poets speak at the Hayward Gallery at the first National Poetry Library Late! Theresa Lola (⬆️) read one called Where Is Ja Rule To Make Sense of the Apocalypse? It was incredible! Also poems on gentrification and change in Brixton, and Celtic tree alphabets speaking to the present. I‘ll tag those poets‘ books below. All rly exciting new stuff!

The next late event is on May 1 and features 2 South Korean poets. Excited 😊

Emilymdxn Hannah Lowe‘s new book was mainly about people and their relationship with place and neighbourhoods, changing face of London, brexit, disputes with your neighbours about watering your plants, and a hot exercise instructor. 6y
Emilymdxn MacGillivray spoke and read very meaningfully about Gaelic alphabets speaking to us now through trees and an exchange she had with Sitting Bull‘s great grandson for a film she‘s making. My celticist heart couldn‘t believe how powerful it was 6y
Severnmeadows I‘ve been before for a poetry day. Sounds brilliant! (edited) 6y
