3.5⭐️
I definitely had to suspend my belief at times with this one as things very much go bump in the night and there are ghostly apparitions. It‘s a fun, entertaining and easy read. It has more than a hint of gothic and I liked the writing style. I found the the historical aspect with regard to food rationing and wartime lifestyle etc interesting and this seems well researched. I did find the ending quite predictable but overall I enjoyed it.

A cool new cover for The Weeping Woman and the second in the Sarah Bennett series. I found this one more satisfying and a little less bonkers! Sarah developed as a character and there was a little more time spent on the characters. The setting of the private sanitarium with the Dr into the occult worked well and so did Sarah's paranormal problem of overhearing a dead woman weeping. Glad I stucl with the series.
