Das Gedächtnis des Körpers
Das Gedächtnis des Körpers: Wie Beziehungen und Lebensstile unsere Gene steuern | Joachim Bauer
12 posts | 1 read

With finishing this audiobook I‘m at #BookishGoal 46 although it will remain on my online library‘s wish list. ☺ï¸

I‘ll keep that on my wish list for another while because I feel that I might listen to some parts again.

Not everything is super interesting but for me it was a good combination of reactivating what I once learned at school and giving a scientific background to things one tends to think of as “common knowledgeâ€.

Sometimes one really needs to pay good attention to not get lost in the explanations but the topic being so fascinating is worth it.

👩ðŸ¼â€ðŸ’¼ My colleague from a different administration who helped me to find a mistake via phone calls. During three hours we approximately talked six times.

👩ðŸ¼â€ðŸ’¼ðŸ‘±ðŸ½â€â™‚ï¸ My colleagues from my administration who were on my side in a difficult but important meeting and fought brilliantly for my case. I am afraid, they did better than I did.

yeahnonotagain Having gratitude really changed my life. I used a little notebook and wrote good things that were happening in my life to combat depression. This is so important â¤ï¸ 5y
Buechersuechtling Using pen 🖊 and paper 📠would hamper in persevering because they are more difficult to carry around for me than my mobile is. But in general you‘re _so_right_. I use this “challenge†to shift my awareness. Away from the annoying things in everyday life towards all the good (little) things. 5y

👩ðŸ»â€ðŸ’¼ My friend whom I spend an entertaining afternoon with. Coffee, self-made cake, sparkling wine and a surprise gift ðŸ˜

👩ðŸ»â€ðŸ’¼ That same friend who helped me prepare an important meeting in a few minutes. Alone I would‘ve needed the complete afternoon. But now I am calm enough to not continuously think of it.

It‘s really nothing to listen to too much while doing something else. But it‘s so, so interesting.

It provides medical, scientific, biological, cellular and all in all clever, reasonable explanations for the connection between mind and body everybody knows or has dealt with (like being sick on weekends or the beginning of vacation).

Fascinating.

Audiobooking for the quickly deciding:

Am continuing with chapter two which starts after 1 hour 34 minutes and does not feel too far away from where I was forced to stop.

Library haul, next entry. 😉

Guys, you surely remember that a few days (or weeks) ago, I couldn‘t finish this audiobook before the lending period was over. And that additionally I had forgotten to put it on hold.

Today I accidentally noticed that it was available again and digitally took it home immediately. 🙌ðŸ¼

Nevertheless, I (of course ☺ï¸) decided to finish „Herr Lehmann“ first before I go searching where to continue this one.

Seems, I kind of need to re-organise my life because I finally found the time to listen to this audiobook in one piece and found it way easier to follow the thoughts and theories of the author then.

But during the weekend the lending period obviously ended and: someone snatched it away from me because I forgot to put it on hold. So I need to remember where I stopped and slide something in in between. 🤷ðŸ½â€â™€ï¸

Thanks to @Sarah83 for finding this in every way fitting description of last week.

As I put my two pennies worth in I just realised what it is that keeps me from being able to concentrate on any book or audiobook: It‘s because of how asking my week at work was.

Litsy as insight bringer. 😃😘

I did not come very far in here.
It just didn‘t want to play on my device last week, it was kind of bugged. 🤷ðŸ½â€â™€ï¸ So I had to wait for the lending period to expire before I snatched it again. But this time all is fine.

It‘s really interesting – but you very much need to focus on listening and can‘t do it on the side.

But this weekend I will be investing my time in playing “Subnautica†🎮💻, I think. 🤷ðŸ½â€â™€ï¸

“Do only the genes determine our nature? Which (additional) share do experiences and that “thing†we call “soul†have in it? The relation between hereditary factors and life circumstances is in the modern medicine‘s mind. The author makes the cooperation of spirit and genes understandable for laypersons the first time – and engages for a more conscious contact with the human soul.â€

⬆ï¸â¬†ï¸â¬†ï¸ I‘m curious about this but also fear that it‘s esoteric.
