Definitely dated at this point. Especially with what has happened in Asia since this was written and the events around ISIL and what just happened in the EU. This was very well written and the underlying trends, regardless of current events hold somewhat true.

America is big and powerful and changes the world not always for the better. The rest of the world wants to follow follow the ways of the western world and be successful. According to Zakaria if growth in India continues at its current rate it will be as wealthy as the US.
