From the author of When Elephants Fly comes an exceptional new novel about falling down, risking everything and embracing what makes us unique. Don't miss this compulsively readable novel about the most unlikely of heroes. Danger "Danny" Danielle Warren is no stranger to falling. After losing an eye in a childhood accident, she had to relearn her perception of movement and space. Now Danny keeps her head down, studies hard, and works to fulfill everyone else's needs. She's certain that her mom's bitterness and her TV star father's absence are her fault. If only she were more-more athletic, charismatic, attractive-life would be perfect. When her dad calls with an offer to join him to film the next episode of his popular survivalist show, Danny jumps at the chance to prove she's not the disappointment he left behind. Being on set with the hottest teen movie idol of the moment, Gus Price, should be the cherry on top. But when their small plane crashes in the Amazon, and a terrible secret is revealed, Danny must face the truth about the parent she worships and falling for Gus, and find her own inner strength and worth to light the way home.

This was a very entertaining yet somehow heartwarming story of the cast of a survival tv show that crash lands in the Amazon. The characters worked through their outer and inner conflicts while finding themselves. 5🌟

You could really tell the author did her research regarding bugs, snakes, birds, and other creatures in the Amazon. Eek! This strong female protagonist takes the lead in this survival tale and it‘s literally jaw dropping.

Above my feet, I see every possible shade of green made from clusters of leaves.

I love how she‘s described this scene so slowly to make the reader realize the character is hanging upside down, suspended mid-air.

What a wild ride! I had a feeling I would enjoy this book as the description was up my alley & it didn't disappoint. A quick, action-packed read with a bit of emotional depth. Danielle struggles to get to know her famous Bear Grylls-esque father who left her and her mother when she was younger. Never a dull moment in this extreme survival story. Prepare to feel some phantom itchiness & to be thankful for the safety & comfort of your own home.

This was one interesting read. 4 ⭐️ for this spider filled story about a girl with one eye and the will power to not be helpless in the Amazon. It was one adventure that I won‘t forget anytime soon. Like really nightmares!! I do not do bugs! If your looking for a new girl finds her voice story with a little romance and a little mystery and a whole lot of jungle then check this one out!

This is both simple and complicated for a cover. It's a camping story. The cover is not as intriguing as Wilder Girls, but something that would have teens pulling it off the shelf.

Look what showed up at work today. Complete with gummy tarantula.

The author posted the galley on Twitter with the gummy info. Never thought I would be getting one.

Thank You Ink Yard Press

VanChocStrawberry That‘s a beautiful cover! What‘s the book about? 6y
Avanders Ooooh pretty! 😍 6y
LibrarianRyan @VanChocStrawberry according to the back it‘s about a girl joining her never around dad for a taping of his survivalist show. But instead their plane crashes. And of course there is a love interest. It sounds fun. 6y
