You Just Don't Understand
You Just Don't Understand | Deborah Tannen
2 posts | 7 read | 4 to read
Tannen draws on her extensive and groundbreaking research to show that women and men live in different worlds, made of different words. Men use language to protect their independence and negotiate status, while women use language to seek confirmation and reinforce intimacy. This results in misunderstanding and communication breakdown--but Dr. Tannen reopens the lines of communication.

I've decided it is possible to read a nonfiction book at the same time as reading a fiction one. How many books do you have going at once?

Yossarian 8. All the time. 7y
Dasuse Wow! 7y
Dasuse @Yossarian How? Are they different genres? Respect to you, my friend. 7y
Yossarian I'm a different percent through each of the books. Some I'm just starting and others I'm just finishing. They don't get any more confusing than if you watched 8 TV Series at the same time. 7y
