There were a few of these that were just okay, but most of them were good! I've found that short stories are really good introductions to an author for me, like character sketches with a plot. My favorites were probably "Hearken" by Veronica Roth and "Branded" by Kelley Armstrong! Side note: I am now in New Orleans, and I actually HAD A CONVERSATION WITH KELLEY ARMSTRONG yesterday!!! This will be an amazing week! #nolastorycon

A little dystopia with breakfast! The first half was really good. I was also briefed on all of the Digimon my son has discovered recently, which took me back a bit.

Grabbed this collection of short stories off my shelf today for a dystopian pick-me-up! I'm about halfway through, and there are some little gems in here. Lots of darkness, betrayal, and death obviously.

It's time to get serious, people! I'll be at the NoLA StoryCon in less than two months (is anyone else going?), so I really need to read some more books by the attending authors and about or set in New Orleans! Pictured are the unfinished ones that I either own or have from the library right now (and Ghostbusters is just hanging out in the middle). So excited for my first book convention!

For every great story in this anthology, there was one or two that was solidly meh. Not really much more to say than that.

I understand this is supposed to be female written dystopia, but why is the cover girl wearing a latex dress with stripper heels? That doesn't seem wise given the snowy wasteland surrounding her.
