I really liked this book. It‘s been one of the few I‘ve read during this infernal dry spell! It‘s a refreshing and wholesome fairytale...a good spin on the goblin king and a strong female lead character. A cute read for the Halloween season.

Surprisingly fun read. Kind of a Victorian fantasy with lots of magical creatures, a heroine who‘s tired of being a maid, a goblin king, and a doppelgänger causing havoc in the king‘s kingdom. Might go back and read the earlier books in this series.

Breakfast with BESSIE BELL AND THE GOBLIN KING. It‘s charming but not gripping, so I‘ve been reading it for three days even though it‘s only 230 pages long. Here‘s hoping I can manage to sit down and finish it this evening.

I‘ve officially started my last minute #Readathon prep! My snacks aren‘t done and I‘m still figuring out my Scribd pool, but I‘ve combed through La TBR and pulled out seven shorter freebies to maybe try tomorrow.

As per usual, I‘m fine with bailing on any of these if they don‘t grab me (though I do expect to enjoy the tagged book, as the first in the series was charming). I‘d love to get at least three off La TBR this weekend. #deweyapril

This was.. endearing, lovely, fun, and oddly enchanting. Combining regency romance with goblin magic and faerie was an excellent recepy. It managed to capture some of that weird enchantment I seek in portal fantasy, and I liked Bessie. A good light read for rainy days, shall be reading more from this author for sure. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Since I read Spinning Silver AND Digger, I've been in a serious book hangover. They are pretty hard ones to top, so I've been wandering aimlessly here and there with my books and nothing seems right.

BUT. This little series combining regency novels and fantasy seem just the right kind of fun. And goblins are always A Good Thing.

esurient Super curious to learn your thoughts upon reading these. 6y
