How Green This Land, How Blue This Sea: A Newsflesh Novella
How Green This Land, How Blue This Sea: A Newsflesh Novella | Mira Grant
3 posts | 10 read | 1 to read
A new Newsflesh novella from the New York Times bestselling author that brought you Feed, Mira Grant. Post-Rising Australia can be a dangerous place, especially if you're a member of the government-sponsored Australia Conservation Corps, a group of people dedicated to preserving their continent's natural wealth until a cure can be found. Between the zombie kangaroos at the fences and the zombie elephant seals turning the penguin rookery at Prince Phillip Island into a slaughterhouse, the work of an animal conservationist is truly never done--and is often done at the end of a sniper rifle. 2.5/5⭐ There were some fun moments/lines/characters, but nothing felt as fleshed out as Grant's stories usually are. The pacing was off with the majority of the story slow and unresolved points of interest at the end. #bookspinbingo

Excuse me, sir, your sass is showing.

“Sorry we're late. There was a bit of a traffic snarl on the way into the airport. You know how it is when you have to be somewhere in a hurry.“

“Yes, I leave early.“

I had a tough time choosing my favorite female author for #agameoffavorites . It came down to MK Wren or Mira Grant so I have Milo the deciding vote. I love Grant‘s entire Newflesh series, and this novella set in Australia is a fun one. She lists Stephen King as her favorite along with Kelley Armstrong, Terry Pratchett and James Tiptree Jr. Mira was also the first author I ever interviewed,
