Day 10: For a author from another country I chose Fredrik Backman because I have a few of his books on my tbr. In an interview the author said his very favorite book of all time is The Brothers Lionheart. Besides Astrid Lindgren another favorite author is Charles Dickens.

For (yesterday's) #agameoffavorites I researched authors from the country I'd like to visit the most, Botswana. Unity Dow's life and bibliography are impressive. She is a women's rights, human rights and education activist, and was the first woman appointed as a judge to the high court of Botswana. I couldn't find any information on her favorite book, but I'm very excited to read her work and learn more about her life.

#AGameOfFavorites - Author from a different country

To be honest, most of my favorites are from a different country.

I picked ES Thomson. She writes the Jen Flockhart series! Which I love!

Apparently she doesn‘t do any interviews under this name because NOTHING popped up! So I just took her “what she‘s been reading” from her website. Some of those look good!

#AGameOfFavorites - Favorite Classic or Required Reading

Hands down, still my favorite assigned reading. I remember reading this my freshman year, we weren‘t supposed to take the books home, but I did anyway to finish reading!

Just a couple of interesting facts about him.

I‘m almost all caught up!

LoverofLit Such a good book 💙 6y

#AGameOfFavorites - Award Winning Author

Catherynne M. Valente has won a few different awards. I‘ve actually never read her. Honestly, I haven‘t read a lot of award winning authors and none that I would consider a favorite.

I chose Space Opera - it‘s her latest book and the one I really want to read, but a few of her books sound really good.

She used to love to scare herself by reading Stephen King and HP Lovecraft.

Day 10: Author from a different country #agameoffavorites
I chose Fiona Barton, who was born in England, and lives in France and England. I really enjoyed her book The Child. In a list of her favorite crime books, she names Agatha Christie's Five Little Pigs. Look for her next book, The Suspect.

Day 8: Award winning Author #agameoffavorites
In 2010, Libba Bray won the Prints award for Going Bovine, a quirky, crazy book about a boy with mad cow disease. It isn't my favorite of her books, but it is a lot of fun, and it is very odd, which is always enjoyable. I do love her! Fun fact: for research, she dressed up in a cow suit and walked around New York 😋

Day 7: Mystery #agameoffavorites
I chose Gilly MacMillan. Though are her books are classified as thriller or crime, they are mysteries. In a list of books she enjoys, she mentioned that she had recently enjoyed a new translation of The Pledge by Friedrich Durrenmatt which she had long loved. Look for her next book, I Know You Know.

Les Misrables | Victor Hugo

Bit late for #Day9 #agameoffavorites #classics My favourite classics are Les Miserables and North and South-sweeping works whose themes resonate today-the condition of workers, legal rights for the lesser privileged, the condition of women, pretty much the birth of the 20th century. Victor Hugo was influenced by Chateaubriand,a fun fact about him-he had a road named after him and letters to him were addressed, "To Victor Hugo, his road, Paris" !!!
