“I feel so happy when I am making clothes that I could just jump up and down with joy!“

This is an interesting book, and I didn't know about Ann Cole Lowe, but I enjoyed reading it and learning about her life. I would read this to my classroom to show my students how to never give up on your dream no matter what challenges you may face. Like Ann, she didn't let her race get in the way of fulfilling her dream of becoming a fashion designer.

This is a biography about the life of fashion designer, Ann Cole Lowe. The book begins with how she loved to sew at such a young age because her grandmother taught. At the age of 16, her mother died. She wanted to do something to make her mother proud, so she began sewing dresses & selling them as her own little business. Since she was African American she had to study fashion in a separate room at school. This book uses facts and has sources.
