1929: A Novel of the Jazz Age | Frederick Turner
3 posts | 1 read | 2 to read
With the roaring twenties still in full swing and the seemingly endless horizons of jazz, wealth, power, and black market booze still unfolding, Bix Beiderbecke--self-taught musician--flames across the sky in a short-lived spectacle that befits the new era of excess and frenetic energy. Reprint. 30,000 first printing.

My #bookspin for June and I cannot do it. I‘m actively avoiding reading it which tells me, we are not meant to be. I‘ll be clearing this book from my TBR, no regrets.

TheAromaofBooks At least it's off the list!!! 3y
Reagan @TheAromaofBooks it feels good. I‘ve had this for 10 years. Time to find a better home. 3y
TheAromaofBooks Yes!! I'm amazed at how I have books I picked up secondhand back in like 1998 & still haven't read. There's something freeing about moving those on to someone else! 3y

I am not feeling this one so far. Not too far into it. I‘ll probably give it another 20 pages but any thoughts? Has anyone read this?

marleed No - but that cover - I‘d have given it a go, too! 3y

Look at me, I'm so fancy! I have had one long ass week and still one more day. So I made this and maybe I'll get a bingo but if I don't, I'll read some books! #bookspin is the tagged and #doublebookspin is The Strange Career of Jim Crow.

@thearomaofbooks

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! Looks great!!! I never actually try to get a bingo, I just read my books and enjoy seeing if it happens 😂 3y
