“At the end of our lives, as at the beginning, the images and confusion of the dreamworld linger in our waking hours. Kalman paints and writes like someone who has never lost touch with this other kind of consciousness.” - Ariel Levy, NYT review, 2008

This book brings me so much joy. I return to it often, and it's going to stay on my nightstand for a while.

And I have decided to wrap up a heavy reading readathon day with one of my all time favorites - Maira Kalman. Her illustrations are just amazing! PS - I'm kinda disappointed in Dostoevsky after seeing this page. I love Dostoevsky!

GatheringBooks i heart maira kalman. enjoyed her "and the pursuit of happiness" too :) 8y
Imagineannie I've only read My Favorite Things, but I loved it. This looks pretty lovable too. 8y
