Indigenous Men and Masculinities
Indigenous Men and Masculinities: Legacies, Identities, Regeneration | Warren Cariou, Daniel Heath Justice, Gregory Scofield
5 posts | 1 read | 4 to read
The sixteen essays in Robert Alexander Innes and Kim Anderson s "Indigenous Men and Masculinities: Legacies, Identities, Regeneration "explore the complex and diverse experiences of Indigenous men and those who assert Indigenous masculine identities. Innes and Anderson illustrate the ways that some Indigenous men are caught up in a cycle of dysfunction, violence, and living up to false stereotypes, but also how others are re/connecting with cultural foundations that point towards the decolonization and healthy expression of Indigenous masculine identities."

I‘m making my last push for #24In48 with this wee stack! So far I‘ve finished the last essay in INDIGENOUS MEN AND MASCULINITIES and read a couple of poems from GREEN GIRL DREAMS MOUNTAINS. I doubt I‘ll manage to finish another volume of SILVER SPOON before the readathon ends, but at least I‘ll put a dint in it.

Outdoor reading stack, with some vegan cheesecake Superstore was clearing out. I‘ve finished my daily chapter of INDIGENOUS MEN AND MASCULINITIES, and now I‘m ready for more fiction.

Slajaunie That looks delicious! 5y
xicanti @Slajaunie it was really good! I‘ve defrosted some pomegranate arils to go atop the rest of the cake, and I think it‘ll be even tastier that way. 5y
Slajaunie You are making me crave it! Yum! 5y

The weather people LIED; it was cold today and it‘s still cold tonight. I‘m gonna drink tea while I finish another paper from INDIGENOUS MEN AND MASCULINITIES.

This is an important and valuable book, but it‘s also highly academic so there‘s no way I‘ll be able to read it quickly. I want to aim for one chapter per day.
