4 stars. A little more dark than I had been expecting (which is dumb, because this is DC and I really should have been expecting it) but it didn‘t go where I expected and I liked that. I‘m excited to continue the series and watch the new CW show when it starts.

Woah...I LOVED this? Batwoman is freaking epic and I love seeing this unashamed, independent lesbian who kicked ass to defend Gotham. Kind of in shock at how much I love it.

zembla God, RIGHT? You might also like Hydrology‘s predecessor: 7y

Things you should know as I read this:
1) I hate Batman
2) not really into DC Comics
3) A friend who is REALLY into DC gave me a list of ones to try and this was on it (I actually loved Aquaman, sue me)
4) I actually don't speak to #3 anymore so why am I still doing this to myself? Who freaking knows.

zembla Batwoman is worth it. Wonder Woman rules too. I especially love her characterization in 7y
maximoffs @christinamcc thank you!!! I'm down 7y

August wrap-up (this is my first one 🙈)! Most were comics so I included Artist with Author. Sometimes it's hard to find out if an author is POC so numbers might be a little off. I purposely went for female character features cos that's what I'm interested in, but I'm not happy that few were of canon WOC. Even fewer had outwardly canon LGBTQ+ women (like, 2). Ew. That needs work. Super productive month though!! Yay comics 💜💛💜💛💜

SharonGoforth Wow! Great month! 8y

SOOOOOO GOOD. At least I think so. I liked everything, most notably the art, which was easy to follow because the sections were clear (literally the first time I've seen such clear sections in a comic before) and our superhero, Kate Kane, who is openly and proudly lesbian. So holla at LGBTQ+ women in comics 👊🏽🎉

I didn't enjoy this as much as I hoped I would. It's got a strong, complicated LGBT woman which was awesome and well handled. However, the story lost me at times, I found it kind of hard to get into and tbh there's only so much side boob art I can take before I'm wondering what the point is
