The first book, Murder as a Fine Art was amazing!
I just started this, the second book, and it‘s going to deliver the same amazing reading experience.

The sequel to Murder as a Fine Art follows the same band of misfits; laudanum swilling Thomas de Quincey, his unconventional daughter, Emily, injured, Irish, Scotland Yard Detective Ryan, and newly minted Detective Becker, on a hunt through Victorian London to stop yet ANOTHER serial killer. Many elements felt too modern for the era but it didn‘t bother me. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading the last of the series. 4 out of 5 ⭐️s.
