This is definitely of its time - there some casual racism here which is a problem - but it‘s a fast paced spy thriller which examines loyalty to friends and to country. I liked that bit of it, but I can‘t rate it higher than a so so because of the problematic racial tropes.

Friday train book! The only Shute I‘ve ever read is A Town Like Alice and I suspect this may be somewhat different to that!
