Pickpick

Second in her Small Change crime trilogy set in a 1940s England that has sued for peace with Hitler and is slipping into fascism. The sisters here are clearly modelled on the Mitfords and the story centres around a plot to kill Hitler. Maybe just a shade less enjoyable than Farthing (I missed Lucy) but still an engrossing and unsettling read.

batsy I really enjoyed this trilogy. 7y

Fun Friday Photo: pets with books. This is Ina and she often guards my shelves. (Since there are a bunch of books here, I chose a title at random to link, but I do want to tackle Ha'penny eventually.)
